Well everyone in my life seems to think this is funny BUT me…even my husband who risked making me even more upset by laughing as he told me about it…..
On Sunday I went shopping with my mom and my sister, I left around noon and did not get home again until after 10 pm. Anyway, I called Aaron at 1 pm to find out how to easily calculate percentages off and talked to him. I never heard from him again even though I called about once an hour. I wanted to find out if he needed dinner etc… Anyway by the time I got home I was convinced he had been kidnapped or worse yet was dead or hurt or God knows what (yes I tend to overreact…and watch WAY too much Court TV)….so I walk in the door and he is just sitting at his computer. I ask him WHY didn’t you answer the phone…he starts to chuckle then looks at my face and tries to stop. He then tells me how he ran over his cell phone with the lawn mower. I couldn’t believe it…I was FURIOUS (I shouldn’t have been we insured it for this reason) because he didn’t tell me…ok well we had no home phone at that time (it was installed the next day) and I had my cell phone. So I am not sure how he was supposed to let me know, but in my head I was thinking he could have let me know he was ok. Anyway at that point, I asked him to show me the phone. I was thinking that it couldn’t be that bad….WRONG. He saved all of the little pieces, it didn’t even look like it was a cell phone at some point. I filed the claim with the insurance and finally had the guts to ask him what happened….
He was mowing….and then the cell phone fell out of his pocket and he didn’t see it had and he kept mowing until he heard a sound you should NEVER hear from a lawnmower…he looked down and there was his cell phone in pieces.
At this point, I am thinking I am surprised that he collected all of it and kept it for me. Anyway, does anyone else have a oops I did that to my cell phone story????? (By the way, all the overreacting is over now and I think the whole thing is funny!)

My coworker gets a million cellphone calls from her kids throughout the day.. usually just to tattle on each other. I don’t mind the interuptions because she has ‘Brick House’ as the ring tone. However, it made me think of how lucky(?) people had it 10 years ago before cell phones, email, etc. I would leave messages on answer machines and wouldn’t worry if I hadn’t heard back for hours. Now, if I don’t hear back within minutes, I get alarmed. I also loved prank calling people and feel for teenagers now who can’t do that because of Caller ID.
Technology.. can’t live with it and can’t live without it.
I’d trade in my cellphone for an iPhone.
Ok. So I got parts of this story after it was funny to you. And I have to say that I thought it was funny the whole time. I like this blog thing. It makes it easier for me to comment on the wild and crazy going-ons in your life!
