Changes, Changes and more Changes…

For the first time ever, the day after Christmas I am done with Christmas. It was a great holiday and I love both of our families and we received some AMAZING gifts that we both love but I am done with my emotions on a CONSTANT roller coaster and being busier than usual. Many of you think I plug myself in and well I am beginning to think I need to find that outlet to do just that. The next few posts will be about all of the changes I hope to make in my life in the next year….changes that I hope will benefit Gabriel and Samuel as well as Aaron and I! My first change was to this blog…out of Christmas and into a new layout and colors! Keep watching you never know what will change next!

So I think I will leave you with a story as to why Gabriel and Samuel will not be allowed to have Transformers unless they are made for children under 4 (no matter their age). We have two nephews…and wouldn’t you know it they BOTH wanted a Transformer Bumblebee for Christmas. Well my mom got the oldest one a Nintendo DS so she could only get the younger one a Bumblebee but never fear mom and dad stepped up and got the older one his BUT would not let him open it until Christmas night when the younger nephew received his (neither of these things cost as much as the ones on Amazon now, not sure why Amazon is so high for any of these toys). Well needless to say there were squeals everywhere (my niece got another American Girl doll) during the opening of the big gifts. Well each nephew handed a box to someone and said I want it to look like a car. So we all said OK and proceeded to untie and undo the robot out of the box which took about 15 minutes and then TWO hours later, the robots were finally cars (though they still did not make all of the appropriate noises BUT we all finally gave up defeated by a toy). What were the boys doing while we were passing around the Bumblebees and the instructions, playing with the Transformers they could transform and the older one’s DS while steadily asking “Are you done yet?” The funniest part of all of this is I was afraid to have to put together my niece’s doll bed that she wanted and it came in pieces, that took a total of five minutes, and I thought it would take hours.

And for those who were wondering, yes I gave Aaron the dogs pictures for Christmas BUT we are not having them taken until January (because of the grooming mishap) but the really funny part is he must have asked at least 6 times yesterday “When are we having the dogs pictures taken?” So now I really cannot wait to have him there with me (and that has to be the best gift I ever got him – he has never been this excited)!

One more story – this one is about me and how STUPID I am. Because I knew there would be no actual pictures to give him, I got Aaron a really nice Illini dress shirt. I loved it, it was orange with a white plaid stripe and the chief is embroidered on the breast pocket. Anyway, he liked it too until he put it on. It should have fit him but it seemed a little small (I didn’t say anything at that point) then he says to me this shirt buttons weird – it buttons on the other side I am not used to. I looked up at him and almost started crying, it was a woman’s shirt NOT a man’s shirt. He started laughing and told me I did it just to get one (I have wanted one for awhile) BUT I didn’t I really thought it was a guys shirt and I was getting him something he would like. My mom and sister were with me and BOTH thought it was a guys shirt as well. SO now I have to find him a similar one and get it NO MATTER what it costs. I feel so bad. He thinks it is funny and I should just lighten up…he is happy I promised him the man’s one!

  2. Oh boy- don’t be too down about the shirt! It happens. It’ll be a great story to look back at :) I like the layout!
