Some New Goals…

Ok so it is Manic Monday on Thinking Tuesday :) Sorry I am so tired I am a bit slap happy. Some goals:

1.   To run the Scooba every night in a different room – just for maintenance purposes well and so our floors are finally somewhat clean (well that and I swear the dirty tank was so bad that it had sludge in it last night). For those who asked – yes it first vacuums and then washes and then scrubs and squeegee. I cannot speak to how well I LOVE the machine. (Laura other than the entertainment value for Mattix – it can deal with a lot – one of our dogs thought it was a new toy and pounced on it and it kept working – plus the dirt it cleaned up. I seriously would have posted before and after pictures if it would not have embarrassed me too much!)

2.    To finish at least 3 of the 6 dresses, bloomers and hats I cut out of scrap fabric the other night! I am excited about these dresses, I think they are adorable!

3.    Ok so if you read the password protected post, you know that I am having my own issues – that said when I get to that point I put all adoption stuff on the back burner as it feels it will NEVER happen – so I have yet to turn in the remaining (not 100% necessary now but will be by June) Korea paperwork. I am not sure why I am like that and I am sure the social worker thinks I am a nut job but that needs to be done this week.

4.    Groceries….if you could see our fridge, freezer and cupboards you would laugh! We buy enough for that meal and that is all so NO more – now we are going to get some real groceries and to do that we need a menu of some sort so we do not go over board.

5.    Gym….I need to get back to the gym. I know, but it is necessary if I plan to lose more weight than a couple of pounds and it went by the wayside over the last few days.

6.    I have ordered or purchased all of the fabric for the Around the World Swap and the Paperchase Blues Swap that I signed up for. I wrote up the write-ups for the Around the World Swap and got all of the envelopes addressed. I am working on the wishes for the Paperchase Blues Swap. I want to have them both mailed out by Friday, provided the purchased fabric arrives on time. Which means all of the fabric that is not already needs to be cut into 8×8 squares and wishes printed out…I wish I was Jenna and had a ton of great quotes so I am hoping to get to that by Thursday. I have got to find a way to show you guys the fabric for all these quilts for our babies! It is amazing!

7.    To mail tomorrow the Etsy orders I put off until after the family was out of town. (Don’t worry I contacted the purchaser(s) and they said that was fine! So I didn’t leave anyone in the lurch!)

and finally

8.   To end each post for the next month with something for which I am grateful (including a whole post on March 13th about why I am so grateful for my amazing husband – it is part of his birthday present!).

So today I am grateful that I have a roof over my head, clothes on my body and food to eat, some don’t and I do. (I know that is a little generic but trust me it is so cold here and I would hate to not have those things. I promise more specific tomorrow.) – And I know two posts in one day – scary!

  1. First of all…I can hook you up with some good quote sites if you want them…shoot me an email!

Second, can I get more info on that project with the fabric? Sounds cool…and I have a lot of fabric!

Hang in there…we all have these totally crappy-don’t- want-to-do-anything days…trust me, I’m having a lot of them lately!

  2. Okay, you’ve convinced me! I’m going to get a Scuba if I ever get to go home! Great goals. I need to adopt the one about grocery shopping. We do the same thing (except that we always have food for Mattix). I love the idea of ending every post with something for which you are grateful. I might steal it if you don’t mind. Can you email your PW to me again? Explorer “forgot” them all and I can’t find it buried in my millions of emails! Thx. :)

  3. I noticed you started out adopting from Vietnam because you are on the Vietnam blogroll. Did you switch countries to Korea? Seems like many people are doing that, and I am wondering if we should be looking at other options, too. We are trying to figure out what we should do. We were DTV 9/7/07. Thanks. You can email me privately if you would like.

  4. you go girl!!

  5. [...] finally, I’m going steal an idea from Carissa that I love. She decided to end every post with something for which she is grateful. I think [...]

  6. Great list – I really need one too. For our home study paper workI have the individual pictures and doctor’s appts and blood work for hubby and me. He recently switched jobs, so we are waiting for ins. to kick in and also need a new employer letter. I think your post has gotten me motivated again! Thanks!
